LUR studio has been created in 2018 by two architects, Jone Belausteguigoitia y Jon Laurenz, with the objective of putting in value and into practice the experience acquired throughout their professional careers, giving continuity to social and environmental innovation and its application to the urban design, planning, landscape and architecture fields. In addition, LUR studio counts on its team as well as a diverse network of collaborators to offer a comprehensive response to all their projects.

Jone Belausteguigoitia

 

Co-founder of Lur Studio, Jone is an architect by the University of Navarra (2001, specialty in Urbanism), with a Diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA, Polytechnic University of Madrid, 2005), Master of Advanced Studies in Landscape Architecture (MASLA, University of British Columbia, 2007), with a thesis on sustainable brownfield regenerations, and is currently a PhD candidate at the Doctorate Programme Scientific Interdisciplinary Strategies in Patrimony and Landscape at the University of the Basque Country, developing her PhD on Inclusive Urbanism, Community Engagement and Sustainable Design.

Jone has 20 years of professional experience as an architect and 15 years in participation and community engagement. In the last years she has also developed a diversity of projects with children and young people, as well as entrepreneurship dynamization, urban conflict mediation and gender equity urbanism. Since 2015 Jone collaborates closely with Createlli, company specialized in co-creation and digital participation.

 Jon Laurenz

Jon has 20 years of professional experience as an architect and researcher, having specialized in urban green infrastructure design and in ecologic and healthy architecture, with a specific presence of passivhaus concepts. Since 2013 Jon is partner and co-founder of Ekinn Ekoinnovating, together with German architect Marc Oliver Rips.

Garazi Urkiza

 

Garazi is studying Publicity and Public Relations and Journalism at the University of the Basque Country. She undertook the third year of university with her part-time job at Lur Studio.


Garazi currently continues to be part of the team, mainly working in the communication field.

Irati Alonso

 

Irati has a masters degree in architecture (San Sebastian, 2016). She works in Createlli’s Bilbao Office and collaborates with LUR Studio in the vast majority of projects. Before joining Createlli Irati worked in a consultancy company. ​​​​​​​

Irati joined the Createlli team in 2016 as an intern doing research on the C3PO European project and is now in the Bilbao team.

Irati is part of the Createlli o office in Bilbao since 2017, the same year in which she conducted a master in Urbanism in the Basque Institute of Public Administration.

Lucía Olavarri

 

Lucía is an architect graduated by ETSAV-UPC (Barcelona, 2017) and with a Master in Architecture by KTH (Stockholm, 2019).

In 2017 she participated in an international cooperation project in Senegal, and during the following years she was part of two architecture and urbanism offices in Stockholm. 

Lucía is part of the team since 2020, participating and being in charge of several engagement projects. Currently, she keeps training herself through courses related to inclusive urbanism, gender perspective and participation.
